Christine Lazarus compiled these hearty Afrikaans poems as an act of obedience. They relate to all walks of life. Functioning as inspiring material, often leading to powerful tears of healing in the reader. 

When dreaming up the book, Christine knew she wanted to partner with the visual creativity of her daughter in law, Lizelle Lazarus. Lizelle created cover and section artworks for the poem bundle. She followed a process of reading the poems and allowing her hands to physically respond to the emotions stirred by the uplifting words. 

The end result was a narrative poem bundle wrapped in raw linen, text printed in gold leaf, a functional artwork itself.
